Slideshow: A Look Inside the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital

Lindsay Bjerregaard with MRO-Network.com goes behind the scenes to present an insider's view of the incredible Orbis Flying Eye Hospital, currently undergoing a routine maintenance C check at AerSale's MRO facility in Goodyear, Arizona.

The one-of-a-kind MD-10 aircraft houses a state-of-the-art teaching facility complete with operating room, classroom, and recovery room. In a global effort to end avoidable blindness, the working hospital flies to low- and middle-income countries, provides specialist training for local doctors and nurses, and performs sight-saving surgeries.

"Maintenance for the aircraft will be typical, despite the medical facilities and equipment on board, " said Charlie McDonald, Senior Vice President of MRO Services for AerSale. "Once maintenance is complete, the aircraft will be set up on our ramp so Orbis can perform scheduled operational checks on equipment."

Come aboard and see this remarkable aircraft for yourself. Watch the fascinating slideshow.
