Unmatched visibility, elevated safety

The only FAA-certified EFVS featuring dual head wearable displays, approved for the Boeing 737NG, for safer, more flexible operations.

Watch how AerAware expands pilot vision and awareness

AerAware transforms situational awareness with multispectral imaging, dual-wearable displays, and gate-to-gate visibility in any conditions—giving pilots a wider field of view, real-time data, enabling better decision-making.

Safety above all:

How AerAware EFVS protects flights

Operational Advantages

Exceeds Human Vision

Pilots can see through weather and low-visibility conditions using a real-time image of the environment, especially during taxi, takeoff, landing, and approach.

Approved for Lower Minimums

AerAware offers a 50% visual advantage over the naked eye—the highest of any commercial Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS)

Improves Situational Awareness

With the head-wearable display (HWD), pilots monitor flight data while maintaining an unobstructed external view, enhancing awareness throughout every phase of flight.

Shared Mental Model – Enhanced CRM

Dual-pilot HWDs provide a shared view of the environment, strengthening situational alignment and improving Crew Resource Management (CRM).

Efficient Energy Management

Conformal flight path and acceleration cues support precise altitude and airspeed control, reducing short or long landings and tail strike risk.

Reduced Runway Excursion/Incursion Risk

AerAware enhances awareness in low visibility and at night, improving visibility of terrain, structures, aircraft, and vehicles to avoid excursions and incursions.

Improved Obstacle Visibility – All Conditions, All Phases

Real-time visuals of other aircraft, terrain, and airport vehicles improve safety from gate to gate—even in visually complex or light-saturated environments.

Key Features

Multispectral Imaging with ClearVisionTM

At the heart of AerAware is the ClearVision EVS-5000 camera system. It fuses input from four internal cameras and six sensors into one clear, real-time image, helping pilots overcome limited visibility conditions day or night. Covering visible light through longwave infrared (IR), the system delivers multispectral imagery that reveals critical cues beyond the limitations of the human eye.

SkyLens️️️️️️️️ HWD

The SkyLens HWD offers a revolutionary way for pilots to interact with AerAware. It features a wide, immersive display that projects aircraft systems data alongside 3D synthetic vision. The lightweight device delivers superior see-through clarity in all weather conditions with an unlimited field of view.

Combined Vision System (CVS)

Enhanced Vision System (EVS) + Synthetic Vision System (SVS)
Setting a new standard, the CVS combines EVS and SVS to provide a high-resolution view of the outside world—even in near-zero visibility. It enhances runway light recognition during low-visibility approaches, improving the pilots’ ability to safely execute precision and non-precision approaches and landings while significantly reducing the risk of runway incursions, tail strikes, hard landings, and other visibility-related incidents.

Advantages Over HUD

While traditional Head-Up Displays (HUDs) offer only a fixed, forward-facing view, AerAware’s SkyLens HWD delivers significantly enhanced situational awareness. Pilots gain full visual mobility for primary flight data and expansive “eyes out” views of 3D synthetic terrain. The wide viewing angle allows them to scan up to 180 degrees left or right to view SVS imagery for unmatched visibility.

Enhanced Operator Safety

AerAware greatly enhances flight crew situational awareness, which results in improved energy management during critical phases of flight.

Operator Efficiency

AerAware provides dispatch and landing approach priority, as well as low visibility landing capability—regardless of destination airport infrastructure—resulting in improved operational efficiency and fewer delays or cancellations.

AerAware-Operator-Efficiency

Operator Cost Savings

AerAware minimizes the potential for delays and diversions, reducing the need for costly alternate transportation or hotel accommodations during adverse weather—ultimately benefiting both airlines and passengers.

“So it's these three layers as I look out… That heads-up guidance, the synthetic vision, and the enhanced vision camera all layer together to give me that overall situational awareness.”

Captain Hal Andersen
AerAware Test Pilot

“That one investment in the airplane can bring benefits, payback as it goes out and back to typically the smaller communities with relatively limited infrastructure. It's a nontrivial opportunity.”

quote
Captain Steve Fulton,
AerAware Test Pilot

“It is a game changer in terms of safety, situational awareness, and it sets a new standard for heads-up display technology. They're gonna realize that they're seeing disruptive technology.”
